Anesthesia Registrar Key Responsibilities
As a Specialist/Registrar, your core duties involve total patient care during the perioperative period:
- Pre-operative Assessment (PAC): Evaluate surgical patients, provide counseling, and obtain informed consent (including high-risk consent). You will assess the patient’s physical status (often using the ASA grading system).
- Intra-operative Care: Administer anesthesia (General/Regional) in the OT, maintain anesthesia depth, and perform continuous intra-operative monitoring.
- Post-operative Care: Accompany patients to the recovery ward or ICU. Prescribe fluids, analgesics, and oxygenation. Assess patients for discharge to the ward.
- Emergency Duties: Perform emergency call duties on rotation. Attend to patients immediately when on call, or even when off-call during emergencies if required.

Required Qualifications & Experience
